Carpet Cleaning

What the Carpet Cleaning pack adds: residential and commercial extraction routes.

The Carpet Cleaning pack tunes Manuall for truck-mount and portable extraction, residential and commercial. Apply it at signup or from Settings -> Vertical Packs.

What the pack adds

Custom fields

Eleven, in two groups.

  • Customer (4): Carpet Age (years), Primary Fiber Type, Pets in Home, Truck-Mount Water Access.
  • Job (5): Cleaning Method, Rooms Cleaned, Stairs Cleaned (count), Pre-Treatments Used, Estimated Drying Time (hours).

Nothing lands on Equipment. Fiber Type and Water Access are the two that save a trip: fiber decides the method before you load the van, water access decides truck-mount or portable. Truck-Mount Water Access assumes you run a truck-mount at all. A portable-only shop should rename it or drop it in Custom fields.

Job templates

Thirteen. Each carries a duration for the slot finder, required skills, and a note that drops onto the job. Twelve pre-fill billable lines through DefaultServices, and twelve open with a checklist attached.

Standard Carpet Clean Per Visit (90 min), Pet Stain + Odor Treatment (60), Upholstery Cleaning (60), Tile + Grout Cleaning (120), Area Rug Cleaning In-Home (60), Commercial Encapsulation (120), Carpet Protector Application (30), Water Damage Restoration Cat 1 (360), Move-Out / Turnover Carpet Clean (180), Annual Care Plan Visit (210), Commercial Monthly Maintenance (150), Water Damage Drying Monitor Visit (60), Tile & Grout Clean and Seal (240).

Skills gate the slot finder. PetTreatment, Tile, Commercial and WaterDamage sit on top of CarpetCleaning, so set them on the techs who hold them in Team and availability or those templates suggest nobody.

Two gaps worth knowing. Water Damage Restoration (Cat 1) pre-fills no lines, because the billable square footage is whatever the moisture meter says on arrival. Water Damage Drying Monitor Visit ships with no checklist, so write your own if the daily readings need a sign-off.

Watch the pre-filled quantities on the per-sq-ft templates. Tile + Grout pre-fills 300 sq ft, Clean and Seal 300 clean plus 300 seal, Commercial Encapsulation 3,000 sq ft, and Move-Out pre-fills 13 stair treads. Those are placeholders for a measurement, not a price. Fix them on the job before you invoice.

Services

Twenty-five, every one badged "Set your price" until you save it. By subcategory:

  • Carpet (9): 2 Rooms, 3 Rooms, Whole House (Up to 5 Rooms), Carpet Cleaning (per sq ft), Stair Cleaning (per step), Hallway Cleaning, Carpet & Pad Removal and Haul-Away (per sq ft), Emergency Water Extraction (per sq ft), Drying Equipment Rental (per day).
  • Add-On (7): Pet Odor Treatment (per room), Heavy Stain & Spot Treatment (per spot), Carpet Protector (per room), Trip Charge, Hourly Rate, After-Hours & Weekend Service, Annual Carpet Care Plan (per year).
  • Upholstery (4): Sofa (3-Cushion), Chair / Recliner, Sectional (Up to 6 Seats), Mattress Cleaning.
  • Tile (2): Tile & Grout Cleaning (per sq ft), Grout Sealing (per sq ft).
  • Commercial (2): Commercial Encapsulation Cleaning (per sq ft), Commercial Carpet Maintenance Plan (per month).
  • Rug (1): Area Rug Cleaning (In-Home).

Prices are a 2025 US national average. Each service also carries a Member price, a Commercial price and a Cost, so the price book shows margin. Cost is chemical at supplier plus labor at an hourly rate, around 45 percent of the default price. That reads right for an owner-operator van and low if you send two techs on every job.

The room-count packages are the assumption most likely to miss. They anchor the whole residential book at 2 rooms, 3 rooms and whole house. If you sell strictly by measured area, the per-sq-ft Carpet Cleaning line is your real one and those three are noise on the picker.

Checklists

Three, 48 items between them: Pre-Cleaning Inspection (16), Standard Cleaning Sequence (19), Post-Service Customer Walkthrough (13). They are not all checkboxes.

Numbers capture soil level rating, indoor humidity, hose run length, pre-spray pH and dwell time, solution temperature at the wand, wand PSI, post-rinse fiber pH, moisture reading after the final pass, and air movers placed. Selects capture fiber identification method, carpet construction, colorfastness result, backing and subfloor, and rinse agent used.

Photo items cover traffic areas, a close-up of every pre-existing defect, each cleaned area after the final pass, and the post-clean walkthrough with the customer standing there.

Check them against your own procedure. The pH and PSI lines assume the tech carries strips and reads the gauge; cut them if that is not how you work. The pre-existing defect photos are the ones to keep, because that is your evidence when a customer decides the wear line in the hallway was your doing. See Checklists.

Parts

Twenty, all with a CC- part number: Spotting (6), Rinse (3), Prespray (2), Odor Control (2), Hard Surface (2), Protector (1), Rug Care (1), Restoration (1), Job Supplies (1), Equipment Parts (1).

Traffic lane and upholstery presprays. Acid side rinse powder, crystallizing encap concentrate, defoamer. Enzyme urine digester and peroxide sub-surface neutralizer. Six spotters: solvent gel for ink and oil, red dye, protein, tannin, rust, and freeze spray for gum and wax. Then fluorochemical protector concentrate, wool-safe rug shampoo, tile and grout concentrate, impregnating grout sealer, quat fiber sanitizer, 2 inch furniture tabs, and an 11002 wand jet.

Cost and price are a national average, on hand is zero, and there is no reorder point, because nothing here can know what is on your truck. Counting stock is the first pass. Set reorder points after that, or the low-stock alerts never fire. Every chemical is priced as concentrate by the gallon or the pound, so if you buy ready-to-use, both the unit and the cost are wrong for you. See Parts and inventory.

The pack also wires a bill of materials: 42 links across 18 services, so the Parts tab on a service shows what that job burns. Heavy Stain & Spot Treatment carries all six spotters, Whole House carries four lines. Quantities are dilution fractions, so a two-room clean draws 0.09 of a gallon of traffic lane prespray rather than a whole one.

Seasonal pricing proposals

Five, all shipped switched off. The pricing engine ignores an inactive rule, so nothing moves until you turn one on.

Rule Service Window Multiplier
Spring Cleaning Season Carpet Cleaning - 3 Rooms Mar 15 to May 31 1.12
Pre-Holiday Rush Carpet Cleaning - Whole House (Up to 5 Rooms) Nov 1 to Dec 20 1.15
Freeze and Burst Season Emergency Water Extraction Dec 1 to Feb 28 1.25
Winter Slow Season Carpet Cleaning - 2 Rooms Jan 5 to Feb 28 0.88

Freeze and Burst assumes a market that actually freezes. In Phoenix or south Florida there is no burst-pipe season and the water calls arrive on a different calendar. It also overlaps Winter Slow in January and February, which is deliberate (residential discounted, emergency extraction surcharged), but read both windows before you turn either on. Edit the dates to your market. See Seasonal pricing.

Preview before you apply: carpet age, fiber type, cleaning method, and drying time fields plus standard clean and pet stain templates. Re-applying only adds what's missing.

Typical workflow

  • Residential one-offs run small and skip deposits.
  • Whole-home plus add-ons can carry a deposit.
  • Commercial is recurring (monthly or quarterly) via a Service Agreement plus a recurring invoice.
  • Water damage is a 24-hour emergency line at premium pricing.

The two recurring templates are the plan side. Annual Care Plan Visit pre-fills a whole-house clean plus protector on three rooms; Commercial Monthly Maintenance pre-fills the monthly plan line plus two spot treatments. Pair each with a recurring job so the visit generates itself.

On water damage, Emergency Water Extraction bills the affected area, Drying Equipment Rental bills per unit per day, and the Drying Monitor Visit template is the daily return until the readings say pull.

Re-applying and mixing packs

Apply more than one pack from Settings -> Vertical Packs; the pack only adds what's missing and never overwrites an edit. A shop that also runs general house cleaning or hard-surface work as its own department should look at cleaning and flooring rather than living on the add-on lines here.
