HVAC

The HVAC pack tunes Manuall for heating, cooling, ductwork, and refrigerant work. Apply it at signup (the Trade dropdown) or anytime from Settings -> Vertical Packs.

What the pack adds

Custom fields

• Customer (1): Preferred Technician.
• Job (3): Refrigerant Type (R-410A, R-32, R-22, R-454B, Other), Refrigerant Pounds Added, AHRI Reference Number.
• Equipment (3): BTU Rating, SEER Rating, Filter Size. No Lead or Invoice fields ship. None of the seven are required, and all of them are editable at Custom Fields.

Membership is deliberately not a custom field. It already lives on the customer record, and it is what selects the Member price tier in the Price Book.

Job templates

Thirteen, each carrying a duration the slot finder uses to size the visit. Filter Replacement 30 min, AC Diagnostic 60, Furnace Diagnostic 60, Heat Exchanger Inspection 60, Condensate Leak Call 60, Refrigerant Recharge 75, Spring AC Tune-Up 90, Furnace Fall Tune-Up 90, After-Hours No-Cool Call 90, Commercial Rooftop Unit Maintenance 120, Furnace Replacement 420, Ductless Mini-Split Installation 420, System Replacement 480.

Required skills are pre-filled: HVAC on all thirteen, Refrigerant on the recharge template, Installation on the three changeout templates. If nobody at Team and Availability carries those tags, the slot finder gates every tech off the job.

Twelve of the thirteen pre-fill billable lines. Refrigerant Recharge pre-fills 6 lb, After-Hours pre-fills the premium visit plus hourly labor, the rooftop template pre-fills a tune-up, a coil clean and 4 filters. Those quantities are placeholders; correct them on site before the job reaches an invoice. System Replacement ships no default lines, because the scope comes off the estimate.

Services

Twenty-five price book lines, each with all three tiers (Default, Member, Commercial) and a cost, all badged "Set your price" until you save them.

• Service (4): Diagnostic Service Call, Emergency After-Hours Visit, Hourly Labor Rate (per hour), Old Equipment Removal and Haul-Away.
• Cooling (6): AC Tune-Up (Annual), Refrigerant Recharge (per lb), Refrigerant Leak Search, Evaporator Coil Replacement, Air Conditioning System Replacement (3 Ton), Ductless Mini-Split Installation (Single Zone, 12k BTU).
• Heating (2): Furnace Tune-Up (Annual), Gas Furnace Replacement (80% AFUE, Up to 100k BTU).
• Components (7): Capacitor, Contactor, Blower Motor, Furnace Ignitor and Condenser Fan Motor Replacement, plus Programmable and Smart Thermostat Installation.
• Maintenance (3): Coil Cleaning (Indoor + Outdoor), Condensate Drain Line Clearing, Standard 1" Pleated Filter.
• Air Quality (1): UV Light Installation. Maintenance Plans (2): Silver Maintenance Plan (Annual) and Maintenance Plan Membership (Monthly).

Eleven are flagged for public booking and the public site: the diagnostic, both tune-ups, both thermostats, coil cleaning, drain clearing, the UV light, and the three changeouts. Component repairs and refrigerant stay off, because a homeowner cannot pick those off a dropdown.

Prices are 2025 US national averages. A $89 diagnostic is honest in one market and underpriced in another, and the changeouts ($6,450 for a 3 ton, $4,250 for a furnace) assume a straight swap with no duct or line-set work. Membership ships one tier, Silver. If you sell Gold and Platinum, add them.

Checklists

Three, shipped for you to check against your own procedure at Checklists. Twelve of the thirteen job templates point at one; Filter Replacement carries none.

• AC Spring Tune-Up Checklist, 21 items. Five checkbox steps, then the readings a tune-up should leave behind: superheat, subcooling, delta-T, outdoor ambient, suction and liquid pressure, return air, compressor and fan amps, measured capacitor, and refrigerant added this visit. A pass/fail on the condensate safety switch, nameplate and after-cleaning photos, and a required system condition verdict.
• Furnace Fall Tune-Up Checklist, 21 items. Heat exchanger inspection is the required first step. Then combustion: CO, manifold and inlet gas pressure, temperature rise, flue O2 and stack temperature, efficiency, flame sensor microamps, external static pressure, blower amps. Ambient CO in the living space, the gas leak check at valve and drip leg, and a heat exchanger photo are all required.
• Pre-Service Safety Check, 11 items. Lock out before the panel comes off, gas off and leak-checked, PPE, customer told how long the system is down, voltage verified, meter proven live-dead-live (required), access hazards, floor protection, whether a CO detector is present, and before and after photos of the work area.

Parts

Nineteen truck items across eight categories: Electrical, Filters, Heating, Refrigerant, Chemicals, Materials, Controls, Air Quality. Cost and price are a national average, stock is zero, and no reorder point is set, because nothing here knows what is on your truck. Count it once and set your own numbers at Parts and Inventory.

The assumptions worth checking before you order against them: capacitors ship as 45/5 and 35/5 MFD 440V, the contactor as 2-pole 30A with a 24V coil, filters as 16x20x1 and 20x25x1 MERV 8 plus a 20x20x4 MERV 11 cabinet insert, and refrigerant as R-410A only. If your book is mostly 2025 equipment on R-454B, or your neighborhood runs 20x30 returns, that part is yours to add.

The bill of materials wires 12 rows to 11 services, so using the service pulls the part off stock. Seven repair lines carry a required part: capacitor, contactor, ignitor, both thermostats, the UV bulb, and refrigerant by the pound. Three optional rows sit on maintenance work (a filter and a flame sensor on the furnace tune-up, drain tablets on the AC tune-up) for the tech who needs one without leaving the job. Standard 1" Pleated Filter is wired to the 16x20x1, so a house on another size bills the wrong part until you correct the line.

Seasonal pricing proposals

Four rules, all shipped switched off. The engine ignores an inactive rule, so nothing moves until you open one and turn it on at Seasonal Pricing.

• Peak Cooling Season, Jun 15 to Sep 15, 1.25x on Emergency After-Hours Visit. The July no-cool call gets answered on overtime.
• Pre-Season Spring Special, Mar 1 to Apr 15, 0.88x on AC Tune-Up (Annual). Fills March before the first hot week takes every slot.
• First Cold Snap, Oct 15 to Dec 15, 1.12x on Furnace Tune-Up (Annual).
• Winter Slow Season, Dec 1 to Feb 28, 0.90x on Air Conditioning System Replacement (3 Ton). Books changeouts while the install crew is idle.

The dates assume a four-season climate. On the Gulf Coast the cooling premium should run longer and the winter discount has nothing to sell; in a heating-dominant market the AC rules barely matter. Edit the months before you switch one on.

Typical workflow

1. Net-new leads land via Public Booking from your website.
2. Capacitor, no-cool, and refrigerant calls dominate summer; tune-ups dominate spring and fall.
3. Changeouts go out as estimates with a deposit; 20 to 30% is common.
4. Maintenance plans are recurring jobs (twice a year) wrapped in a service contract.
5. Membership Status drives the Member price tier on the Price Book.

Compliance to watch

• EPA 608 certification for refrigerant work (per tech).
• Your state HVAC license.
• General liability and workers comp.

Track these in Compliance; the dashboard surfaces 30-day expiry warnings.

Re-applying and mixing packs

Running HVAC and want to add Plumbing? Settings -> Vertical Packs -> Plumbing -> Apply. Both coexist; applying a pack twice only adds what is missing, so re-apply after an update without losing an edit. Electrical and Generator are the other common second packs for a shop already pulling permits and running heavy circuits.
