What the Solar pack adds: PV install, battery and EV charger work, service calls, and array maintenance.
The Solar pack tunes Manuall for residential PV: site assessment through install, interconnection paperwork, then the long service tail of inverter faults, underproduction calls, and array maintenance. Apply it at signup or from Settings -> Vertical Packs.
What the pack adds
Custom fields
Eleven, no Invoice fields. The Equipment ones make the customer's PV system the tracked asset, so a service call three years out opens with the inverter type and monitoring platform already on file. See custom fields.

Job templates
Thirteen, each with a duration for the slot finder and required skills that gate who can take it: Site Assessment (120 min), Residential Install (1440), Battery Install (960), Inverter Fault Service (120), Panel Cleaning (120), Monitoring Setup (90), Production Shortfall Investigation (120), Removal + Reinstall for Reroof (960), Annual Maintenance Visit (150), Critter Guard Installation (300), EV Charger Installation (240), System Decommissioning and Removal (480), and Emergency Callout for a system down (150, priority Emergency).
Skills are Solar plus Electrical, Roofing, Assessment, or Diagnostic. Residential Install and Decommissioning carry all three of Solar, Electrical, and Roofing, so a tech missing one is gated out.
Check the pre-filled quantities before quoting off a template. Residential Install pre-fills 8,000 watts of Solar PV System Installation and Battery Install pre-fills 13.5 kWh: a mid-size 8 kW array and one Powerwall-class unit. If your bread and butter is 11 kW, every templated job starts short by three thousand watts until you change the number. Decommissioning assumes 20 panels plus 2 hours, Critter Guard 120 linear feet plus a nesting cleanout, and Removal + Reinstall one panel of each per-panel line. See job templates.
Services
Twenty-four in the Solar category across Inspection, Installation, Repair, Maintenance, Diagnostic, and Service. Each arrives badged "Set your price" in the price book; saving it clears the flag. The install core is priced by unit, not by job: Solar PV System Installation per watt, Home Battery Storage System per kWh, Critter Guard per linear foot, and the reroof and decommissioning lines per panel.
The rest pays the bills between installs: Site Assessment and Shade Study, Service Call and Diagnostic Fee, Hourly Rate, System Underproduction Diagnostic, Inverter Replacement, Solar Panel Replacement, Power Optimizer Replacement, Panel Cleaning per panel and full array, Bird Nesting Removal and Array Cleanout, Monitoring Setup and Customer Walkthrough, Post-Installation Roof Penetration Inspection, After-Hours or Emergency Service Call, and an Annual Solar Maintenance Plan.
Four adjacent lines are worth checking against how you actually sell: Utility Interconnection Application and Filing, Permit Filing and Engineering Plan Set, EV Charger Installation, and Main Electrical Panel Upgrade to 200 Amp. If you already roll permit and interconnection cost into your per-watt number, delete those lines or drop your per-watt price, or you will double-bill. Prices are a 2025 US national average, and per-watt swings hard by market and by whether you sell cash, loan, or as a subcontractor to an EPC.
Ten services are flagged for both public booking and your public site: Site Assessment, Service Call fee, Full Array Cleaning, Monitoring Setup, Underproduction Diagnostic, Roof Penetration Inspection, Annual Maintenance Plan, Critter Guard, Bird Nesting Removal, and EV Charger Installation. The per-watt install, the battery, and the component swaps are not, because none of those is something a homeowner picks off a dropdown.
Checklists
Three, shipped for you to check against your own procedure. See checklists.
- Install Checklist, 20 items, referenced to NEC 690. Photo of attachments and flashings before modules are set, lag and clamp torque, bonding continuity, string Voc and Isc, insulation resistance, polarity verified before inverter connect, rapid shutdown tested with conductor voltage after trip, grid profile (IEEE 1547-2018 default, Utility-specified, Rule 21, HECO, Other), a label photo, and first-hour production.
- Service Call Checklist, 15 items. Fault code as displayed, photo of the inverter or monitoring screen, string voltage and current, isolation resistance, irradiance and ambient temperature at test, production yesterday from monitoring, where the fault was located, and a photo of the failed component with its serial label.
- Pre-Service Safety Check, 10 items. Array isolated, DC voltage confirmed at zero, battery DC bus after isolation, lockout tag at the AC disconnect, arc-rated PPE, roof surface condition, anchor point photo, wind speed.
Ten of the thirteen templates are wired to one of these. Site Assessment, Monitoring Setup, and EV Charger Installation ship without. Panel Cleaning links to the safety check rather than a cleaning list, which is right for roof work but means your cleaning steps are not captured yet.
Parts

All arrive at a national-average cost and price with zero on hand and no reorder point, because nothing can know what is on your truck. Counting stock is your first pass. Set reorder points after that, or parts and inventory will not warn you when modules run low.
Bill of materials
Twenty-five ServiceParts rows tie parts to eight services. The big one is Solar PV System Installation, fifteen lines: 20 modules, 20 optimizers, 1 string inverter, 10 rails, 8 splices, 32 comp-shingle flashings, 36 mid clamps, 8 end clamps, 2 grounding lugs, 180 feet of PV wire, 6 MC4 pairs, a bag of frame clips, an AC disconnect, a label kit, 3 tubes of butyl.
That describes one specific install: 20 modules, string inverter with optimizers, composition shingle. Running microinverters? Swap the inverter and optimizer lines for the 384 VA micro. Working tile or standing seam? Swap the comp flashings for the tile hook or seam clamp. Both ship in the pack and sit on no BOM. Inverter, Panel and Optimizer Replacement, Battery, Critter Guard, Array Reinstallation, and the Roof Penetration Inspection carry short BOMs of their own.
Seasonal pricing proposals
Six, all switched off. The engine ignores an inactive rule, so nothing moves until you turn one on in seasonal pricing.
- Year-End Tax Credit Rush, October 1 to December 31, 1.12x on Solar PV System Installation.
- Post-Pollen Season, April 1 to June 30, 1.15x on Full Array Cleaning.
- Peak Production Season, June 1 to September 15, 1.15x on the Underproduction Diagnostic.
- Nesting Season, March 1 to June 30, 1.20x on Bird Nesting Removal.
Typical workflow
- A lead arrives with Monthly Bill filled, then a paid Site Assessment goes out before anyone sizes a system. The assessment fee is a real line, not a giveaway.
- The proposal goes out as an estimate with a deposit. On a $22,000 install the deposit holds the equipment order, and the customer approves and pays it from the portal in one step.
- Install is multi-day at 1440 minutes, so it lands as a block on the calendar rather than a slot. Permit and interconnection filings run in parallel and gate the final invoice, not the install date.
- Monitoring Setup is its own short visit and its own line after commissioning. Handing off the app is the last thing the customer remembers about you.
- The Annual Solar Maintenance Plan runs as recurring jobs under a service contract: one cleaning, torque check, connection and grounding check, written production report.
- Reroofs bring your own arrays back. Removal and reinstall are separate per-panel services, so the customer portal shows two clean numbers instead of one lump.
Permits, interconnection, and what happens after PTO
Two paperwork tracks run on every install and they are not the same thing. The AHJ permit and inspection gate whether you can energize. The utility interconnection application and permission to operate gate whether the customer can export. Track the permit and its inspection dates in permits, where they hang off the job. The pack ships services for both filings, and the Install Checklist opens with a required "Permit posted + utility notified" item.
The pack does not ship a PTO date field. If you want PTO on the job record rather than buried in notes, add a Job date field in custom fields. Shops that bill the balance at PTO rather than at inspection need that date somewhere queryable.
After PTO the relationship is production, not hardware. Monitoring Platform on the equipment record tells the office which portal to open before dispatching anyone, and the Service Call Checklist captures production yesterday, irradiance, and ambient temperature at test, which turns "my bill went up" into a defensible answer. Production Shortfall Investigation exists so an underproduction call is a billable diagnostic, not a free callback you eat.
Roof leaks are the callback that costs real money. The Post-Installation Roof Penetration Inspection service and the required photo of flashings before modules are set both exist so a leak claim two winters later meets a dated photo instead of your memory. Log the callback under warranties so the pattern shows up if one crew's flashings keep coming back.
Re-applying and mixing packs
Applying a pack twice adds only what is missing and never overwrites an edit, so re-apply after an upgrade without worry.
Solar shops commonly run Roofing alongside this, since reroof-and-reset work and full replacements land in the same conversation. Electrical covers the panel upgrades and EV charger work this pack only touches at the edges, and Generator fits shops selling whole-home backup next to batteries.
