Window Cleaning

What the Window Cleaning pack adds: residential in/out work and route commercial.

The Window Cleaning pack tunes Manuall for residential in/out work and route-based storefront commercial. Apply it at signup or from Settings -> Vertical Packs.

What the pack adds

Custom fields

Twelve, across three record types. See Custom Fields.

  • Customer (4): Window Count, Stories (1 / 2 / 3+), Has Screens (All windows / Some / None), Hard Water Staining (None / Light / Heavy).
  • Job (4): Cleaning Method (Traditional squeegee / Water-Fed Pole / Ladder Work / Lift Required), Panes Cleaned, Screens Cleaned, Pre-Existing Damage Noted.
  • Equipment (1): Equipment Type (water-fed pole and pure water, squeegee kit, ladder set, lift, other).

Stories stops at "3+", which is right for houses and wrong the day you bid a five-story office. Edit the options rather than working around them.

Job templates

Thirteen. Each carries a duration for the slot finder, the skills a tech needs, and default services that drop the billable lines straight onto the job. See Job Templates.

  • Residential: Exterior Only (120 min), In + Out (180), Interior Only (150), Three-Story Residential Exterior (240), Storm Window Service (210).
  • Recurring: Maintenance Plan Visit (105).
  • Specialty: Hard Water Stain Removal (90), Screen Cleaning + Re-Screen (60), Post-Construction Clean (240).
  • Commercial: Storefront Route Stop (45), Mid-Rise Water-Fed Pole (240).
  • Gutters: Gutter Clean-Out (90), Gutter Guard Installation (300).

Skills gate who the slot finder will offer: WaterFedPole on the mid-rise and three-story templates, StainRemoval on hard water, GutterCleaning on the gutter work, Commercial on route stops. Tag your crew to match under Team and Availability or those templates return nobody.

The Storefront Route Stop's 45 minutes is a mid-size shop. A single-door dry cleaner is fifteen; a strip-mall anchor with a glass entry wall is ninety. Fix the duration before you route a day off it.

Services

Twenty-five lines, all badged "Set your price" until you save them. Prices are a 2025 US national average and saving the service clears the flag. See Price Book.

  • Residential (5): Exterior up to 20 windows, Interior & Exterior up to 20, Interior only up to 20, plus the per-window add rates for exterior and for inside-and-out.
  • Screens (2): Screen Cleaning (each), Re-Screening (each).
  • Add-on (6): Track & Sill Detailing, Skylight, Solar Panel, Divided-Light Surcharge, Storm Window Removal & Cleaning, Third Story & Above Surcharge.
  • Restoration (2): Hard Water Stain Removal (per pane), Post-Construction (per pane).
  • Gutters (3): single story, two story, Gutter Guard Installation (per linear foot).
  • Commercial (2): Storefront weekly visit, Storefront monthly visit.
  • Labor and fees (3): Trip Charge, Hourly Rate, After-Hours & Weekend Premium.
  • Maintenance plans (2): Two Visits Per Year, and a single plan visit billed per visit.

The two package anchors both assume 20 windows. If the houses on your route average thirty, either raise the package or lean on the per-window add rate, or you will underbid every quote the pack pre-fills.

Checklists

Three templates, 46 items, shipped for you to check against your own procedure. Pre-Service Walkaround (17), Interior Work Protocol (13), Final Quality Pass (16). See Checklists.

They are not all tick boxes. Numbers capture window and screen counts, wind speed at work height, and pure-water TDS at the pole. Photo items capture elevations before work, every cracked pane and failed seal, and the finished sides. Text items capture glass that could not be cleaned and what the customer raised at walkthrough.

Parts

Twenty-one truck-stock items, part numbers prefixed WC-. See Parts and Inventory.

  • Squeegee consumables (3): channel rubber 18 in soft, 18 in stainless channel, 18 in microfiber washer sleeve.
  • Scrapers and abrasives (3): 4 in stainless blades, 0000 bronze wool, glass-safe white scrub pad.
  • Chemicals (2): glass soap concentrate, acidic hard-water gel.
  • Water-fed system (5): mixed-bed DI resin, 12 in dual-jet brush head, 10 in pre-filter, 150 GPD RO membrane, 100 ft minibore hose.
  • Screen repair (5): fiberglass mesh, pet mesh, 0.140 spline, pull tabs, 3/4 in frame corners.
  • Detailing (1): cotton huck towels. Gutters (1): 5 in K-style micro-mesh guard.

Cost and price are a national average and flagged the same way services are. Stock is zero and no reorder point is set, because nothing here can know what is on your truck. Count the van once, set the numbers, and the low-stock alerts start meaning something.

The bill of materials wires 44 part lines onto 13 of the services, so the Parts tab on a service shows what the job burns. A residential exterior clean pulls rubber, soap, huck towels, DI resin and a blade. Re-screening pulls mesh, spline, a pull tab and corners. Hard water pulls the gel, bronze wool and a scrub pad. If you run a different soap or buy rubber by the box, swap the part and the quantity follows.

Seasonal pricing proposals

Five rules, all shipped switched off. The pricing engine ignores an inactive rule, so nothing moves until you turn one on. See Seasonal Pricing.

  • Spring Rush, Apr 1 to Jun 15, 1.15x on Exterior up to 20 windows.
  • Holiday Guest Season, Oct 20 to Dec 15, 1.12x on Interior & Exterior up to 20 windows.
  • Leaf Drop, Oct 15 to Dec 10, 1.20x on two-story gutter cleaning.
  • Winter Slow Season, Jan 2 to Feb 28, 0.85x on Interior only, to keep the crew busy when nothing sells outside.

These are a northern calendar. Phoenix and south Florida have no leaf drop and no dead winter, and a Gulf Coast route peaks around pollen and salt spray instead. Read the dates before you switch one on.

Preview before you apply: window count, stories, screens, and hard water fields plus exterior-only and in-and-out templates. Re-applying only adds what's missing.

Typical workflow

  • Residential runs seasonal (spring and fall); put repeat customers on a recurring schedule so the book fills itself.
  • Storefront routes are the steady base: weekly or monthly stops, short durations, tight geography. The slot finder's drive-time ranking earns its keep here.
  • Photo cracked panes and failed seals on the walkaround BEFORE touching the glass; it's the difference between a documented pre-existing condition and an argument.
  • Post-construction cleans are premium, slow, and need a tempered-glass waiver.

Customer portal upsell

Route customers live on autopilot: recurring schedule, recurring invoice, and the portal for payment. The Customer Feedback Loop routes happy responses to a Google review automatically.

Re-applying and mixing packs

Window shops commonly add the Pressure Washing pack (house washes share the customer list) and the Gutters pack if gutter work outgrows the three lines here. Apply more than one from Settings -> Vertical Packs; the pack only adds what's missing and never overwrites an edit you made.
