Gutters
What the Gutters pack adds: cleaning routes, seamless installs, guards, and downspout drainage.
The Gutters pack tunes Manuall for twice-a-year cleaning routes, seamless replacement, guard work, and the downspout and drainage calls that come with them. Apply it at signup or from Settings -> Vertical Packs.
What the pack adds
Custom fields
- Customer (3): Gutter Material (Aluminum, Steel, Copper, Vinyl), Roofline (Ft), Stories (1, 2, 3+).
- Job (2): Downspouts (count), Guard Brand.
- Equipment (5): Gutter Profile, Trough Size, Downspout Size, Guard Type, Hanger Type. The Equipment record here is the gutter system hung on that roofline, so the second visit starts from what the first one measured.
- Invoice (1): Warranty (Years). No Lead fields ship. None of the eleven are required, and all of them are editable at Custom Fields.
Job templates
Thirteen, each with a duration for the slot finder and a checklist already linked. Cleaning (Per Visit) 90 min, Maintenance Plan Visit 90, Guard Cleaning and Reset 210, Repair 120, Section Replacement 120, Downspout / Drainage Fix 180, Downspout Unclog Call 60, Storm Overflow Emergency 120, Full Replacement 480, Guard Install 240, Heat Cable Install 300, Inspection 45, Gutter Brightening 90.
Required skills are pre-filled: Gutters on all thirteen, plus Installation on the three install templates, Drainage on the three downspout and storm templates, and PressureWashing on Gutter Brightening. If nobody carries those tags at Team and Availability, the slot finder gates every tech off the job.
The templates that bill by the foot pre-fill a placeholder quantity: 160 ft on Full Replacement, Guard Install, Brightening and Guard Cleaning, 120 ft on Heat Cable, 20 ft on Section Replacement and Downspout Extension, 2 drops on the Unclog Call. Measure on site and correct the line before it reaches an invoice.
Services
Twenty-three price book lines, each with all three tiers (Default, Member, Commercial) and a cost, all badged "Set your price" until you save them. Per visit or flat: Gutter Cleaning (One Story and Two Story), Gutter Repair (Re-Secure), Gutter Inspection, Leak Seal (Per Joint), Downspout Unclogging, Leaf Blower Clean-Out Add-On, Service Call and Trip Charge, Hourly Rate, After-Hours and Emergency Response, and a Gutter Maintenance Plan (Two Visits Per Year).
Per linear foot: Seamless Gutter Installation, Downspout Installation, Downspout Extension, Leaf Guard Installation, Gutter Section Replacement, Underground Drain Installation, Old Gutter Removal and Disposal, Guard Removal and Reinstall for Cleaning, Gutter Brightening, Fascia Board Replacement, Roof and Gutter Heat Cable Installation, and Copper Half-Round Gutter Installation.
Six are flagged for public booking: both cleanings, the Re-Secure repair, Inspection, Downspout Unclogging, and the Maintenance Plan. The per-foot lines stay off, because a homeowner cannot pick footage off a dropdown. The pack also prices cleaning by story count; plenty of shops price it by linear foot instead, and that is two edits in the Price Book.
Checklists
Three, shipped for you to check against your own procedure at Checklists. All thirteen job templates point at one of them.
- Cleaning Checklist, 16 items. Debris out, downspouts flushed and counted, debris type and depth, flow after flush, standing water depth, fascia and soffit condition, a recommended return interval, and before and after photos of the trough interior. The after photo is required.
- Install Checklist, 17 items. Pitch and measured slope, hanger spacing, trough size and profile, drop count, largest roof area on a single downspout, fascia sound before hanging, drip edge into the trough, expansion joint on aluminum runs over 40 ft, flow test, ground swept with a magnet, and photos of each run and each discharge point.
- Pre-Service Safety Check, 12 items. Ladder duty rating, base setback, 3 ft above the landing, standoff so the ladder never rests on the gutter, footing surface, wind speed at start, distance to the nearest overhead line (required), fall protection if the tech leaves the ladder, and a photo of the setup.
Parts
Twenty-four truck items across eight categories: Coil Stock, Hangers and Fasteners, Trough and Fittings, Sealants, Downspouts, Leaf Guards, and Underground Drainage. Cost and price are a national average, stock is zero, and no reorder point is set, because nothing here knows what is on your truck. Count it once and set your own numbers at Parts and Inventory.
The bill of materials wires 40 rows to 12 services. Seamless Gutter Installation alone carries nine, from coil stock and hidden hangers down to apron flashing and a valley splash guard, and those quantities are whole-house numbers even though the service bills per foot. All of it assumes 5 in K-style white aluminum on hidden hangers with 2 x 3 downspouts. Run 6 in trough, 3 x 4 downspouts, or a color other than white and musket brown, and the coil, end caps, outlets and elbows are wrong for you. Copper Half-Round ships as a service line with no bill of materials at all.
Seasonal pricing proposals
Five rules, all shipped switched off. The engine ignores an inactive rule, so nothing moves until you open one and turn it on at Seasonal Pricing.
- Fall Leaf Drop, Oct 1 to Dec 15, 1.20x on Gutter Cleaning (Two Story). Note it is only on the two-story line.
- Fall Guard Rush, Sep 15 to Nov 30, 1.15x on Leaf Guard Installation.
- Ice Dam Season, Nov 1 to Feb 15, 1.25x on Heat Cable Installation. Dead weight south of the freeze line.
- Winter Slow Season, Jan 2 to Mar 15, 0.88x on Seamless Gutter Installation.
Typical workflow
- Cleaning is the route business. Put each house on a twice-yearly recurring job, or sell the Maintenance Plan line and hold the term in a service contract.
- Full replacements go out as estimates with a deposit. Measure the roofline first; the 160 ft on the template is a placeholder, not a quote.
- Unclog Call and Storm Overflow are the same-day lane. Both pre-fill the trip charge so it is on the ticket, and you waive it when the fix books on the spot.
- Fill the Equipment record on the first visit. Profile, trough size, downspout size, guard type and hanger type decide what the truck carries next time, and a guard reinstalled wrong voids the guard warranty. Claims run through Warranties.
- The cleaning checklist wants a recommended return interval and before and after photos of the trough. Send those through the customer portal; next year's renewal is won on last year's photos.
Routes and the two-visit year
Cleaning is priced per house and costed per mile, so density is the margin. Two houses on one street beat four spread across the county at the same ticket. A year of demand lands in roughly six weeks of leaf drop plus a lighter spring pass, so batch the fall route by neighborhood rather than by the order the phone rang, and schedule the fall visit after the last drop, not during it, or you will be back for free. Map and Routes orders the day; the Calendar and Dispatch Board hold the six weeks.
Ninety minutes fits a ranch or a modest two-story under light tree cover. Heavy pine, a steep pitch, or a guarded house (210 minutes in the pack) blows it. Run your own crew for two weeks, then correct the template durations, because every slot the finder offers is built on that number.
Re-applying and mixing packs
Applying a pack twice only adds what is missing, so re-apply after an update without losing an edit. Roofing is the common second pack for a gutter shop, since the tear-off crew is already at the eave. Pressure Washing and Window Cleaning share the ladder work and the same route customers, and Handyman covers the fascia and soffit work that turns up on half your cleaning tickets. Apply any of them from Settings -> Vertical Packs.
