Ask Manny

Ask about your jobs, money and customers in plain words. Answers come from your own records, the same numbers your pages show.

Ask Manny answers questions about your shop in plain words: "who owes us the most", "how full is tomorrow", "what's our close rate". Open it from the Manny button at the bottom right of any page, type or speak a question, and press Enter.

Every answer is a card built from your own records with the same queries your pages use, so Manny and the Analytics page never disagree. Each card links to the page it came from, where you can dig in.

What you can ask

You only see answers from pages your role can open. A dispatcher asking about revenue is told which page holds it instead.

Your day

  • "what's on my plate": a button for every list that has something waiting on you
  • "jobs today", "jobs tomorrow" (with tomorrow's weather)
  • "jobs running late", "jobs with no tech today"
  • "how full is tomorrow", "who's free today": each tech's booked hours against their schedule
The Ask Manny panel answering
"What's on my plate": tap a button to open that list.

Money

  • "unpaid invoices", "overdue invoices", "what does Hardy owe"
  • "who owes us the most": what's owed by age (0-30, 31-60, 61-90, 90+ days) and the biggest balances
  • "payments this week", "jobs done but not invoiced", "credits not applied"
  • "revenue this month", "our margins", "revenue in october vs last year"

How business is going

  • "how's business", "how did we do last month": revenue, jobs, collected and owed against the period before, what changed and what needs attention
  • "why is revenue down": the same card, because what changed is the why
The How business is going card for June: booked revenue, jobs completed, new leads, collected and outstanding against May, a What changed list and a Needs attention list with links
"How did we do in June": the figures against May, what moved, and what needs attention.
- One number by name, with a line saying what it means: average ticket, close rate, average quote, lead conversion, sales cycle, days to get paid (DSO), days to invoice, callbacks, on-time arrival, repeat customers, customer happiness (CSAT), loyalty (NPS), overtime, paid online, card fees, sales tax collected and the lead pipeline. Try "what does DSO mean".
The close rate card for June: 50%, up 25 points on May, with the line
One number, how it moved, what it means, and what it was measured over.

Who and what matters most

  • "top customers this year", "what's my best money maker" (revenue and margin by job type)
  • "where do my best customers come from": lead sources ranked by what the customers they won went on to pay
  • "customers who haven't booked in a year": past customers worth a call, biggest spenders first
The Revenue by job type card: installation, recurring, inspection, repair and maintenance ranked by booked revenue, each with its job count, margin and a bar
"What's my best money maker": revenue and margin by job type, the leader's bar full.

The office and the shop

  • "quotes waiting on a reply" (sent a week ago or more), "service requests to answer", "overdue follow-ups"
  • "agreements up for renewal", "low stock", "what's expiring" (certifications, sub insurance, vehicle service and registration)

Finding things

  • "find Hardy", "invoice INV-0042", "customers in Springfield"

Trade and how-to questions

  • A trade question (how-tos, specs, codes, troubleshooting) answers from the trade library.
  • A question about using Manuall ("how do I set up auto-pay") answers from this help center.

Dates

Add a date to most questions and Manny reads it: today, tomorrow, this week, last month, september, october 12th, since august, between march and june, q3, this quarter, last quarter, year to date, the last 3 months, the next 30 days, this weekend.

Add "vs last year" (or "year over year") to a revenue, margin or summary question to compare with the same dates a year earlier instead of the period just before.

Fiscal years. If your year doesn't start in January, set Fiscal year starts in under Settings → General → Defaults & Schedule. Then "this fiscal year", "last fiscal year", "FY26" and "fiscal Q2" follow it. A fiscal year is named for the year it ends, so with a July start FY26 runs July 2025 to June 2026. A plain "this year" or "q3" still means the calendar, the same as the Analytics page.

Cleaning up a job note

Under a job note you're writing, Rewrite with Ask Manny attaches the note to the panel. Pick Clean up, Summarize, Translate or Draft reply and Manny writes a draft beside your original.

Nothing is saved or sent. Press Use to put the draft back in the note box, edit it if you like, and save the note as you normally would. Manny flags any number, name or day in the draft that wasn't in your note, so you can check it before it goes anywhere.

Speaking and listening

  • The microphone button lets you speak your question. Your device's own speech recognition does the listening, so it shows only on browsers that support it.
  • The speaker button at the top reads answers aloud.
  • Manny understands questions in Spanish as well as English. Cards come back in the language you use Manuall in.

What Manny won't do

  • Change anything. Manny only reads. "Cancel the Hardy job" gets a plain answer that it can't make changes, never a half-done action.
  • Make up numbers. Every figure comes from your records. When there's nothing to measure, the card says so rather than showing a zero.
  • Show what your role can't see. Answers follow the same permissions as your pages.

Your data

Manny runs on Manuall's own servers; your questions and records are not sent to an outside service. The panel keeps your recent conversation for 30 days so it's still there when you come back. We also keep the text of questions asked, so we can teach Manny the phrasings it misses.

Can't see it?

The Manny button sits at the bottom right of every page. If it isn't there, ask us through Get help in the account menu.
